Counting down to our first harvest next week our class decided to practice harvesting and put a CSA bag together. Each of us in the class contributed a crop or two to the “pretend” CSA bag and it turned out to be a thing of beauty.
Now let me just set the expectation that my own personal harvest will probably NOT look this bountiful, but I am hopeful.
CSA stands for community-supported agriculture where an association of individuals pledge to support a local farmer and in turn those individuals get their share of produce when harvests begin. The CSA customers also share the risks associated with food production which they take into consideration before becoming a member.
